The Falconets crashed out of the tournament if France after a 2-1 loss to Spain in the quarterfinal.

The Nigerians team travelled to the tournament hosted in France after their camp training in Austria.

According to a report by , the French embassy demanded that every member of the Falconets player and team official were to report to the embassy to ascertain that there was not an abscondment.

Ruth David head of women’s football for the , confirmed that the players and official were headed for the French embassy after their arrival from the tournament.

She said, “But for the agreement with the French embassy to report back after World Cup, the Falconets who returned Friday after losing to Spain in the quarter-finals last Thursday in France would have been disbanded last Friday.

“We shall all be there on Monday morning in person to satisfy our agreement with the embassy before we got visas to France. After that, the players and officials will go back to their respective homes.”

The Falconets won just one match in France against Haiti, suffering a defeat against Germany and a draw against China before their exit in the quarterfinal.
