Napoli was too good for the Reds after the Italians dominated and crushed Liverpool 4-1 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples.

Former England manager Fabio Capello on Friday ruled himself out as the Italian national team coach saying his focus was on his job in China

Despite a penalty miss from Nigeria's Victor Osimhen, three first-half goals from Piotr Zielinski, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa put Napoli in a comfortable 3-0 lead at the break.

Two minutes into the second half, Zielinski scored his second and Napoli's fourth of the game to make it 4-0 before Luis Diaz grabbed a consolation for Jurgen Klopp's men.

However, according to former Juventus boss, Capello, the Reds were lucky as Napoli deserved to win by a larger margin.

7-2 was the right result - Capello

Speaking on Napoli's performance, the former England manager said that the Partenopei should have defeated Liverpool by 7-2 as that would have represented the right result.

"Napoli have quality and this was evident throughout the game," Capello said per Football-Italia via Sky Sport Italia.

"This Liverpool don’t have the same intensity they used to have when they won everything," he added.

"Napoli’s game was extraordinary, a 4-1 win may be a bit unfair too, the right one was 7-2.”

Osimhen, who was subbed off in the first half, and Napoli will take Rangers next on Tuesday in the UCL.

But first, they switch attention to Serie A where they host Spezia at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday.
