Former Chelsea doctor kicks off case against club, Mourinho
Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has today kicked off her wrongful dismal case against the club and Jose Mourinho at an employment tribunal court.
The 42-year-old alongside her husband Jason De Carteret arrived court this morning, Wednesday, January 6.
The private hearing before a senior judge is holding at a London South Employment Tribunal in Croydon, south London.
Carnerio is claiming constructive dismissal and sex discrimination against Chelsea after she was suspended from her job after a row with Mourinho.
The pair clashed during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea on the opening day of the current season for going into the pitch to attend to Eden Hazard without knowing the extent of the injury.
Carneiro was suspended from Chelsea’s training and games before she quit the club.
Wednesday's hearing is to allow both sides to deal with witness statements and disclose documents, which can include emails and text messages from both before and after Carneiro was dropped as first-team doctor.
Carneiro is asking to be reinstated back to her role and also filing for damages for sex discrimination against Mournho.
She is also seeking a personal injury compensation and aggravated damages from Chelsea.
