NPFL reigning champions arrive Cairo ahead of Zamalek clash
Reigning champions of the
Rangers will be taking on Zamalek on Sunday, March 12 in the first leg of the Round of 32 tie.
Players and officials of Rangers arrived Cairo in the early hours of Friday, March 10 after departing the previous day.
"The team arrived Cairo this morning; the players and technical crew have arrived in Egypt in high spirits ahead of their @CAF_Online Champions League encounter with @ZSCOfficial,” the club announced on their official Twitter handle.
To progress to the Round of 32, Enugu Rangers beat JS Saoura of Algeria with the away goal rule. The Nigerian club drew 1-1 away before a goalless draw at home.
Ahead of the game, coach of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Emmanuel Amuneke warned Rangers not to play under pressure.
Amuneke who played for Zamalek between 1991-1994 says Rangers must ignore the pressure from the home fans and focus on their game.
