England's Camp Rushes Reece James' Recovery, Tuchel Considers Alternatives

England's medical staff is working tirelessly to ensure Reece James makes a full recovery and returns to action for the quarter-final clash against Norway. Issues on the right flank of the defense have plagued Thomas Tuchel's squad since the start of the World Cup. The German manager notably omitted Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Tino Livramento was sidelined with an injury even before the opening match. Reece James, Djed Spence, and Jarell Quansah have also faced various physical setbacks. Quansah started in the Round of 16 match against Mexico but received a red card and will miss the Norway encounter. Djed Spence is also not fully recovered, despite coming on late in the game against Mexico.

Reece James sustained a strain in the match against Ghana two weeks ago and has not trained with the main squad since. There were doubts he might be out for the remainder of the tournament, but he chose to stay with the team, hoping to recover for the crucial final stages.

Against Mexico, Ezri Konsa finished the game at right-back, but England was already playing with five defenders at that point. If James isn't fit, it's likely Konsa will start on the right against Norway, with John Stones taking his place in the center of defense.
