Eddie Hall believes a fight against Francis Ngannou is entirely possible, confident their paths in combat sports could intersect.
The former "World's Strongest Man" has successfully transitioned into the world of combat sports and is now set to face Tommy Fury at a Misfits Boxing event on June 13. Hall garnered significant attention with an impressive 30-second knockout victory over Mariusz Pudzianowski in his MMA debut at KSW 105 in April.
“My ultimate goal is to be involved in these big, spectacular fights,” Hall told Uncrowned. “I want to go out with a bang. Of course, I’ll be doing boxing, but I truly love MMA. I enjoy mixed martial arts. I’d love to fight for a title in the end. Regardless of the outcome, just to try. Let me just try for a major title. That would be my victory. To see what I can achieve in the MMA world and then retire. I’m almost 38 and I’m feeling the effects of age,” he added.
Following his dominant win over Pudzianowski, many are wondering if a bout with Ngannou is a realistic prospect. Initially, Hall seemed hesitant about the idea, but over time, he has come to embrace it as potentially the biggest fight for the final chapter of his career.
“Honestly, it’s hard to say,” Hall shared. “It has to be a big name. There are people like Phil De Fries in KSW... And then there are people like Francis Ngannou, who are simply the biggest and scariest badasses on the planet. A fight like that would be a spectacle. I would train my heart out for that match, and I think it would be my last – regardless of the result. I just want to face the biggest and strongest opponent I can and see if I can snatch a title. Imagine winning 'World's Strongest Man,' entering the combat world, and taking a European or world title from Francis. That would just be insane.”
Regarding how much time he has left in his competitive career, Hall is adamant that he wants to conclude it when he reaches his next milestone birthday.
“I feel like I have two years left. I believe by the time I turn 40, I’ll be done. I probably have about 18 months left.”
