Members of the D’Tigers have started gearing up for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with a photo-shoot in Brazil.
The players arrived Brazil on Monday, August 1 after their last warm up game against the United States of America which they lost 110-66.
D’Tigers secured qualification to the basketball event of the Olympic Games by winning the 2015 AfroBasket.
They stunned Angola 74-65 for their maiden AfroBasket crown in December 2015.
Nigeria will play Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Lithuania in the basketball event of the Olympics.
Rules for classification from the group include, Points, Head-to-head results, Points difference and Points scored.
The main players of the squad include Chamberlain Oguchi who finished as Most Valuable Player at the 2015 AfroBasket in Tunisia, Olaseni Lawal, Al-Farouq Aminu, Ben Uzoh and Andy Ogide.
Tigers go into the Olympics as at the best national basketball teams in the FIBA Africa zone, along with Angola and Senegal. Nigeria is ranked 24th in the FIBA World Rankings.
This is only the second time they would be playing the Olympic Games. Their first participation was in the 2012 games in London.
