According to , President of Dr Congo, Joseph Kabila on Tuesday, February 9, hosted the players to a reception where he rewarded the players with a Toyota Prado SUV.

Kabila handed over the keys to the cars to DR Congo captain Joel Kimwaki and coach Florent Ibenge at a ceremony in Kinshasa.

The players and officials were also decorated with Sporting Merit medals in recognition for their CHAN winning feat.
