Teixeira was a Stoke City player from 2014 to 2017 but played just two times for the Premier League club.
Stoke City announced the passing of the former Slovakia U-21 player on their website.
“Stoke City extends sincere condolences to the family of former defender Dionatan Teixeira following his untimely passing at the age of 25,” Stoke City announced on their website.

The defender left Stoke City in January 2017 to join Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol where he played 10 games to help them win the Moldovan National Division title.
According to Sheriff Tiraspol, Teixeira had travelled to Brazil in the summer was expected back at the club.
“A few hours ago, a good man and an excellent football player, former FC Sheriff player Dionatan Teixeira died,” Sheriff said in a statement.
“The Brazilian defender was only 25 years old. The whole of the club is shocked by this tragic news. The pain of loss is great.”
Teixeira also played for Kosice, SlovanBratislava, BanikRuzina and DuklaBanskaBystrica.
He was also on the books of English side Fleetwood Town during a loan move from Stoke City in 2015.
