One of the year's most anticipated heavyweight boxing matches could see its sequel unfold in the coming months.
Promoter Frank Warren recently hinted at an unspecified October date for a heavyweight rematch between current WBO champion Daniel Dubois and the recently dethroned Fabio Wardley. The Ring magazine is now reporting October 17th as the target date, with the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, which hosted their initial clash in May, once again serving as the venue.
This marks an incredibly swift turnaround following one of the most grueling battles in recent memory. Wardley (20-1-1, 19 KOs), known to fans for his spectacular encounters, dropped Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs) twice in the early rounds before "Dynamite" launched a furious comeback. This led to the fight being stopped in the 11th round, despite Wardley somehow never touching the canvas. Wardley promptly activated his rematch clause thereafter.
