Dana White promised that Zuffa Boxing would deliver the biggest and best fights possible. With Shakur Stevenson now signed to a multi-fight deal, could Gervonta "Tank" Davis be the next major name to join the promotion?
On Sunday night, following the Zuffa Boxing 9 event in New York, White was asked about the potential of staging a fight between Davis and Stevenson, which would undoubtedly be one of the sport's most monumental matchups. Davis hasn't fought since March 2025, when he concluded with a highly contested draw against Lamont Roach Jr. His planned bout against Jake Paul was canceled due to a series of legal issues, including domestic violence allegations, though police ultimately dropped all charges against him.
However, White admitted he has spoken with Davis and there's definite interest in working together in the future.
"I don't know [if we'll put Tank against Shakur]," White stated. "I really like Tank Davis. I'm actually a fan of his, and we've talked to them. I don't want to speak for him or anything, but I have talked to him, and I'm a fan."
At his peak, Davis was considered one of the best boxers in the world, winning titles in three different weight classes. The 31-year-old hasn't recently commented on his plans to fight again, but it certainly appears he might eventually find his new home with Zuffa Boxing.
Of course, White declined to speculate on whether this would happen, but he maintains his stance of pursuing the best fighters to organize the biggest fights in the sport.
Given the history of both boxers, a match between Davis and Stevenson would generate immense interest, but it remains unclear if it will ever materialize.
"You can put these fights together and just hope," White said. "We knew the main event tonight was going to be good, but you don't know until it happens. I'm striving to put together all the big fights that are possible."
