Curry's Magic and the Clippers' Playoff Blunder: A Season to Forget for Bogdanovic, Bizarre Referee Incident Marks Game

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 126-121 in a dramatic Play-In Tournament clash, securing a chance to battle the Phoenix Suns for the eighth seed and a first-round playoff matchup against Oklahoma City. Serbian national team captain Bogdan Bogdanovic did not feature in this game.

Stephen Curry was the hero of the night. The incredible point guard poured in 35 points, with a staggering 27 coming in the second half! Curry's seventh three-pointer of the game, with just 50 seconds left, sealed the outcome and capped off the Warriors' remarkable comeback.

The Warriors trailed by 13 points in the final quarter (98-85), but a late 16-6 run crushed the hopes of the Los Angeles team. Alongside Curry, veterans played a crucial role – Al Horford (39) hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter, while Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points.

Golden State's defense on Kawhi Leonard was particularly impressive. Despite finishing with 21 points, the Clippers' star was completely neutralized in the final quarter, only scoring inconsequential points in the last 16 seconds of the game.

This Warriors' triumph is even more significant considering they finished the regular season with a 37-45 record and lost Jimmy Butler to a season-ending injury in January. Curry himself had only returned to the court five games prior, following a lengthy knee injury layoff.

For the defeated Clippers, Bennedict Mathurin led the scoring with 23 points, while Darius Garland contributed 21 points and eight assists.

The Clippers thus missed the playoffs for the first time since 2022, despite extending their incredible streak of 15 consecutive winning seasons (42-40).

The game also featured a bizarre incident – referee Ben Taylor had to leave the court immediately after halftime due to an injury and was replaced by alternate official Sean Corbin.

The Warriors now head to Arizona, where they will face the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
