Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí expressed his disappointment following the 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clásico. The young Spaniard admitted that the Catalans failed to rise to the occasion, but stressed that the season is still in its early stages.
"We are disappointed with how the match unfolded. We didn't perform at the level required for a fixture like this. It's still only October, this is just the beginning. We have to turn things around and strive for more," Cubarsí said.
The defender also addressed the controversial incident involving João Cancelo and Diomande, where Real Madrid had appealed for a red card.
"I didn't see Cancelo's foul on Diomande, but if the referee determined there was no need for VAR intervention, there must be a reason for it," the Barcelona player added.
