Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram to share a brief yet symbolic message following Portugal's exit from the 2026 World Cup.
The national team captain posted photos of himself, accompanied by just a few words: “Portugal forever!”.
Without directly addressing their elimination by Spain or his future with the national team, Ronaldo chose to express his unwavering support just days after Portugal's World Cup campaign concluded.
This post comes after a tournament where the forward scored three goals, making history as the first player to net in six World Cups. However, his on-field performances also drew significant criticism.
Despite their Round of 16 exit, Ronaldo had already acknowledged before the clash with Spain that this would be his final World Cup. “I want to enjoy it to the fullest, because this will be my last World Cup,” he stated at a pre-match press conference.
