Console Wars: Sony's PlayStation VR2 is every reason why video gamers should be excited

Sony really kicked off the new year in style following its latest announcement concerning the release of the PlayStation VR 2.

For months, there had been talks on the clarity of the name of its latest virtual headset franchise but finally we can now confirm that it's actually going to be called 'PlayStation VR 2' officially, thereby putting an end to any speculation as well.

At least one thing is clear from the name, Sony puts as much into consistency than anything else as has always been the case with their classic PlayStation video gaming franchise.

Lat year, Sony only unveiled the new controllers for its latest tech and it was called the PlayStation VR 2 Sense Controllers, although currently there is no visual confirmation of what the new headset looks like.

Sony also confirmed that the headset will not be wireless but will require a single cable connected to your PlayStation 5.

However, the PSVR2 is undoubtedly a wonderful piece of Tech when it comes to its features.

Consisting of a frame rate of up to 120hz, the PSVR2's OLED screen displays games in 4K resolution and would feature a field view of approximately "110" degrees.

Now that's what I call impressive. 

As for the PSVR2 controller, it is bisected into two units (one for each hand) and as stated earlier is called the "Sense".

The PlayStation 5 controller is a single unit and that's why that is called the DualSense.

I'm sure the name only makes more sense now.

That's not even the half of it- The latest Sony PlayStation VR 2 boasts of its advanced haptics- In other words, the Sense controller has a feature called “finger-touch detection,” which means the controller can literally sense your finger inputs without you actually pushing any buttons. Amazing right?.. I know.

Although there aren't any screenshots or videos, the new Horizon Forbidden West has been announced as the first official game.

The game is spin-off from Guerrilla Games called Horizon Call Of the Mountain.

There’s no real description of what the game is, but it is being co-developed by developer Firesprite, who was acquired by the Japanese video gaming giants (Sony) mainly because of their huge expertise in Virtual Reality.

To say the least, the PlayStation VR2 not only sounds but looks incredibly like a high-end product, although the designs of the original headset was super impressive as well.

It would seem that the battle of the VR consoles is Sony's to claim.
