After a lengthy absence from MotoGP, LCR Honda rider Johann Zarco has received medical clearance from the championship's doctors to participate in tomorrow's first free practice session ahead of the Aragon Grand Prix.

The French racer sustained a significant injury following an incident during the first restart of the Catalunya Grand Prix in mid-May. This led to an extended period on the sidelines, which was initially expected to last even longer, but Zarco's recovery has progressed faster than anticipated.

Consequently, he will attempt to compete in the Aragon Grand Prix this weekend. For now, the Frenchman is only cleared to participate in the initial 45-minute practice session. Following this, Zarco will need to undergo another medical evaluation to determine if his condition allows for further participation in the weekend's events.

As a precautionary measure, LCR Honda has also called upon Cal Crutchlow to Aragon. The Briton will be on standby to replace Zarco if necessary. In the six races where Crutchlow has already deputized for Zarco, he recorded three retirements, two 16th-place finishes, and one 17th-place finish.
