Crvena zvezda had no answers in Blaugrana. Barcelona asserted their dominance early in the first quarter, largely thanks to Will Clyburn, who shot an astonishing 6/6 from beyond the arc in the opening 10 minutes. This early surge, as it turned out, gave the Catalans a lead that Zvezda, despite their best efforts, simply couldn't overcome.

With that incredible performance, Clyburn once again demonstrated his knack for tormenting Belgrade's eternal rivals.

Indeed, Clyburn didn't just deliver a decisive blow to Zvezda tonight; he's done it in their two previous encounters this regular season. In Round 34 at Blaugrana, he scored 18 points (though his threes weren't falling then, he dominated from the free-throw line and drew fouls), and in Round 14 in Belgrade, he put up an impressive 22 points.

Older Crvena zvezda fans will recall that Clyburn, way back in 2016, buried 19 points against the red-and-whites in his EuroLeague debut for Darussafaka. It seems it was "love at first sight" for him and Serbian basketball.

Partizan hasn't fared any better against Clyburn, regardless of the jersey he's worn. Earlier this season, before Partizan's campaign went completely off the rails, the American guard silenced the Belgrade Arena with a half-court buzzer-beater. And two seasons ago, while still with Virtus, he hit a game-winning shot in the final seconds.

What's particularly interesting is that Will Clyburn, as he himself admitted in an interview with Sportal, was in negotiations with Partizan two summers ago. It could have easily happened that he ended up in Belgrade instead of Bologna. The transfer ultimately fell through, and since then, Clyburn has, as fate would have it, twice decapitated Partizan in the Arena.

There was contact before I signed with Virtus. It could have happened, but it didn't. There was speculation, and it was true, but it just didn't materialize. Will Clyburn

Despite being in his 36th year of life, Will Clyburn is still considered one of the most cold-blooded, dangerous, and "clutch" shooters in the EuroLeague. If you don't believe us, just ask current and former players from Crvena zvezda and Partizan.
