Carbuzz reports that the mayor, Anne Hidalgo, has signed a law, that prevents all vintage cars built before 1997 from entering the city.

This law is reportedly to help reduce the rising pollution levels in the French city.

This ban also affects all motorcycles made prior to 1999, and all non-electric vehicles.

It takes effect from July 1, 2016.
