Author’s father reportedly abducted, freed after 3 days

According to reports, Chimamanda Adichie’s father has been freed by his abductors.

James Nwoye Adichie, was said to have been abducted on Saturday May 2, 2015 in Anambra State, according to Daily Independent.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 10am while Professor Adichie was travelling from Nsukka to his hometown Abba.

He was said to have been taken along with his driver while a ransom of N50 million was demanded.

The bestselling author’s father was reportedly released at about 8pm on Tuesday, May 5.

Details of the incident are still sketchy but more will be provided as they emerge.
