Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen talent Karim Alajbegovic, according to The Telegraph. The 18-year-old Bosnian impressed at the World Cup, scoring once in the group stage against Qatar, and is valued at around £30 million. Stamford Bridge officials are keen to accelerate negotiations with the German club, as Juventus also reportedly holds an interest in the young prospect. Last season, Alajbegovic registered 13 goals and 4 assists in 44 appearances.

The Blues are once again undergoing a significant squad overhaul with the arrival of new manager Xabi Alonso. They have already secured Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a staggering €140 million, Marco Palestra from Atalanta, and Giovani Kenda from Sporting CP. Currently, João Pedro is considered the primary choice to lead the attack, while new clubs are being sought for Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho. The future of Liam Delap, who joined just a year ago but had a rather inconsistent campaign with the London side, remains uncertain.
