Chelsea was fined £10 million for violating agent payment regulations between 2009 and 2022. However, the London club avoided a much harsher penalty, as a potential transfer ban was made conditional, meaning it would only be enforced if further rule breaches occur.

Additionally, the Blues were initially handed a six-point deduction, suspended for the upcoming Premier League season. However, they appealed this sanction, and it was subsequently overturned.

Chelsea's owners, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, self-reported 74 breaches of Football Association (FA) rules upon acquiring the club in 2022. The club admitted to making undisclosed payments totaling £47 million to unlicensed football agents and third parties for transfers between 2011 and 2018. All infractions occurred during Roman Abramovich's ownership. The FA stated they are "continuing to investigate individual misconduct arising from this case."

The initial fine for the Londoners was £26 million. This was reduced to £17.25 million due to the club's cooperation with the investigation. It was then further lowered to £11.4 million for admitting guilt and ultimately settled at £10 million, factoring in fines already paid to UEFA and the Premier League.
