Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Enugu Rangers was shot by gunment on Monday, August 10 in the Asata area of Enugu.

Charles Offordile was shot while preparing to travel to Abuja for Wednesday's Federation Cup quarterfinal game against El-Kanemi.
According to club officials, the gunmen were likely to be cultists, who have been wrecking havoc in the area.
“We were all preparing to travel to Abuja for our Federation Cup game when we heard he has been shot by gunmen," Rangers’ media officer, Foster Chime, said.
"But we thank God, he is in a stable condition and he will be discharged soon. The management of the club has paid him a visit and he is fine."
