Ferrari's rapid development pace has raised eyebrows among rival teams, but Charles Leclerc insists he has full confidence in Fred Vasseur's management of the budget cap.
In the first 11 rounds of the season, Ferrari has introduced new parts for the SF-26 almost every race weekend. This approach differs significantly from Mercedes, McLaren, and Red Bull, who tend to focus their development around larger upgrade packages, with smaller, sporadic adjustments in between.
Instead, Ferrari is pursuing a philosophy of continuous, incremental upgrades, consistently delivering reliable improvements race after race, rather than waiting for fewer, but more substantial revisions. Vasseur has defended this strategy, arguing that early investments can yield greater returns over the entire season.
This strategy from the Scuderia has led competitors to question whether the Maranello team will have sufficient funds to continue developing the SF-26 in the second half of the campaign. However, Leclerc harbors no such concerns, with the Monegasque driver placing unwavering trust in how Vasseur and the rest of Ferrari's leadership are managing expenditures.
"On this matter, I trust Fred more than anything. Of course, there's a lot of work from the team to try and accelerate production and push the creative minds behind the team to get upgrades as quickly and efficiently as possible. I'm sure Fred is on top of this. So am I worried? No, I'm not, because I fully trust Fred and I know he knows what he's doing," the Monegasque stated.
