Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have experienced starkly contrasting campaigns so far,  with Chelsea starting badly with only four wins from their opening 16 league matches, a run of form that saw Jose Mourinho sacked and replaced by Guus Hiddink in December.

Things  improved somewhat under the Dutchman and Chelsea now occupy 12th in the table after going 10 games unbeaten.

Meanwhile, PSG are yet to lose in Ligue 1 after 26 games this season, have reached the final of the Coupe de la Ligue and are in the last eight of the Coupe de France.

John Terry is out for Chelsea due to injury he sustained during their 5-1 thumping of Newcastle United in their weekend Premier League clash.

Russian champions, Zenit have not played a competitive game since their final group stage match in December due to the Premier League's mid-season break, but training camps in Portugal and Qatar were arranged to prepare for the Benfica clash.

Recent history in meetings between the two sides is evenly matched. Benfica defeated Zenit 4-3 on aggregate at this stage of the 2011-12 tournament, while the teams also met in the Champions League group stages last season, with Villas-Boas' men coming out on top in both fixtures.
