Eredivisie champions Ajax Amsterdam were forced to finish the game against SC Heerenveen with ten men after Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey picked up a knock on Saturday evening.

Bassey got injured during Ajax's comfortable 5-0 demolition of visitors SC Heerenveen during an Eredivisie encounter at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

The 22-year-old started the game but could not finish after he was substituted with six minutes left to play due to an injury.

He was trying to defend against Amin Sarr in the 84th minute but injured himself and had to be taken out as Ajax finished the tie with 10 men as they had exhausted their substitutions.

Before Bassey left the pitch, he had already impressed once again at centre-back after he completed 98% of his passes, had 98 touches, completed 100% of his long passes, made five (5) recoveries, won two headed duels, and one interception. 

Kudus and Tadic inspire Ajax to another easy win

Ajax Amsterdam made it five consecutive wins in the Eredivisie after a comprehensive thrashing of Heerenveen.

The defending champions put five goals past the helpless visitors in a dominant display at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Ghanaian striker, Mohammed Kudus and captain Dusan Tadic were the obvious stars of the match.

Tadic was at his creative best as he created a ridiculous eight (3) chances, three (3) of which ended up as assists for three (3) of the goals while Kudus scored a brace for the home side.

With the victory, Ajax has now won five (5) of its last five (5) matches in the Eredivisie, scoring 13 goals.
