The Athletic reported in June that the Seagulls had made an offer, which the London club initially rejected. The deal was only finalized after defender Jan Paul van Hecke moved to Spurs. Tottenham will retain a 20 percent sell-on clause for any future transfer of Vušković.
The Croatian began his career at Hajduk Split, making his senior team debut just two days after his 16th birthday. Loan spells followed at Polish club Radomiak Radom and Belgian side Westerlo. He joined Tottenham in July 2025, but seeking more playing time, he was subsequently loaned to Hamburg. He featured in 28 Bundesliga matches, with many experts considering him one of the brightest talents in his position.
"He has proven he can play at a very high level. We want to help him build on that in our environment. He will need time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League, but we are confident he will handle it with ease," Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler told the club's official website.
Vušković, who played 66 minutes in the quarter-final against England at the 2026 World Cup, will compete for a starting spot with fellow summer signings Pascal Struijk (Leeds United) and Austrian Michael Svoboda (Venezia).
