German Sportswear giant, Adidas has acquired the stake as the official kit partner of Greater Manchester club, Manchester United, however, the deal will only kick off from the beginning of the 2015/2016 season.
The deal is set at £750m is for a 10 year period in which the club will be donning the Adidas logo for the first time since 22 years.
The partnership comes just right after US kit partner Nike ended its deal at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
Nike’s deal was worth £23.5m a year, which is £52m short of what the new deal is worth.
The : the highest to be paid any club by any kit partner, beating the deal between the German company and UEFA Champions League 2013/2014 champions Real Madrid which is worth £31m-a-year.
A statement from the club reads:"Manchester United plc has reached a 10-year agreement with adidas for a global technical sponsorship and dual branded licensing deal for a minimum guarantee of £750million, subject to certain adjustments, beginning with the 2015/2016 campaign.
"For the 2014/2015 season, Nike will continue in its role of technical sponsor and trademark licensee."
Revealing the prospect of the deal, Adidas chief executive Herbert Hainer said: "We expect total sales to reach £1.5bn during the duration of our partnership," adding that they hoped "to further strengthen our position in key markets around the world."
Adidas now adds to the numerous partnerships it has with big Eurpoean clubs which include Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
The German company was dominant on the night of the World Cup Final with its two kit partner nations Germany and Argentina closing the tournament; FIFA is also a partner of Adidas.
