This is the world’s largest site for book recommendations as it offers a community of 40 million readers to interact with; a database of 1.1 billion books to track and review; a social feed to see what your friends are reading and reviewing; and a fun, streamlined way of organizing and celebrating your literary life.

It also includes quizzes, quotes, its own awards and even a reading challenge. I am currently participating in the reading challenge and I have read 6out of 120 books I plan on reading this year.

2. Wattpad

Wattpad is focused on storytelling, allowing you to read 75 million different stories and upload your own regardless of whether you’re a published writer or absolute novice. The app enables you to have a more involved reading experience, you can contact the writer and see who else is reading the same stories. You can also read on any device, whether on or offline, absolutely free of charge.

Okadabooks seeks to by-pass the traffic in the Nigerian book publishing industry by making it easy to publish books, making it cheap to buy books but more importantly making it fun to read books on mobile devices! There seems to be quite an interesting selection of books available. There are thousands of books available on Okada books including classics from Alice In Wonderland to Chimamanda Adichie’s Americanah. The library also includes free past JAMB/SSCE question papers with answers.

Get access to half a million e-books and 30,000 audiobooks in over 80 languages on scribd. The people at Scribd aim to evoke a feeling of an old-school local bookstore and so give you personal recommendations and additional access to millions of user-contributed documents – real reviews by real people.
