In the 100m finals on Thursday, July 7 Okagbare beat last year’s winner, Gloria Asumnu who is also her biggest challenger to win her seventh national title.
The Delta State born reclaimed the national 100m title she relinquished to Asumnu having missed the championship last year.
She set a new national record by finishing the race under 11.2 seconds. Okagbare beat her previous record of 11.6 which she ran in the 2010 edition.
In the 200m finals on Friday, July 8, she won running 22.78s.

The 2016 All-Nigeria Championships which kicked off on Thursday, July 7 also serves as the trial for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
