Okagbare, who made the Semifinal after a brilliant run on Saturday, August 13, 2016 has lost her bid to make it to the finals.

The commonwealth champion finished third in her semi final race with a time of 11.09 crashing out of the finals qualification as only athletes that ran under 11seconds made it to the final.

In the final of the women's 100m race are Elaine Thompson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Tori Bowie, Ta Lou, the only African in the final, Dafne Schippers, Michelle-Lee Ahye and English Gardner.

Okagbare, who made the finals of this same event at the London Olympics four years ago,could not match her performance as she now has to shift focus to the relays as well as the 200m and long jump events.
