Nigerian athlete flops at IAAF Diamond League
Blessing Okagbare has lost out of the race to final at the 100m women
Blessing Okagbare only managed an unexciting leap of 6.11m at the long jump event of IAAF Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Okagbare competed in the women's 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay of Rio 2016 Olympic Games but failed to impress in any of them.

It was the same story at the IAAF Diamond as the Delta State born athleteonly manage an unexciting leap of 6.11m at the long jump event.
With her opening jump of 6.11m, Okagbare finished sixth in the final classification before a 5.95m for the second jump.
She got just a point from the event (she now has four points from the Diamond Race) which earned her (N824, 000) $2,000.
The 27-year-old will try again at the twelfth stage of the IAAF Diamond League at the Stade de France in Paris, France on Saturday, August 27.

Serbia’s Ivana Spanovic won the event with 6.83m and tops the Diamond Race with 46 points.
