The American claimed only his second professional victory as he carded a score of 14-under par at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Colorado to beat compatriot Bubba Watson by two strokes.
That win has seen the 27-year-old move up 22 places to number 23 in the Official World Golf Ranking, while Watson has jumped three spots to number six as a result of his fine performance.
Watson is not the only mover inside the world's top 10, however, with Sergio Garcia - who finished tied fourth at the PGA Tour event - leapfrogging Henrik Stenson to number three.
Ryan Palmer was one of three players to end the tournament tied with Garcia and has now moved back into the world's top 50 at number 44 as a result.
Another American enjoyed success on the European Tour as David Lipsky overcame England's Graeme Storm in a play-off at the European Masters, claiming the win on the first extra hole in Crans-Montana.
That stunning display has predictably done wonders for Lipsky's ranking, which has gone from 369 to 154.
