Defending champions Barca lost just seven regular-season games last term, but their record already reads 10-5 this season following defeat at the Bilbao Arena in their first game of 2015.

The two teams headed into the contest with identical records and the closeness of the fixture was reflected by the fact Barca led 54-53 by the end of the third quarter.

A three-point at the buzzer in the third from Quino Colom had boosted Bilbao and the point guard - who finished with 21 points - was particularly influential in the fourth for Bilbao, who sit second in the standings.

FIATC Joventut and Real Madrid also have 11-4 records. The former were 85-65 victors at home to Fuenlabrada, while the latter triumphed 79-70 at MoraBanc Andorra.

Unicaja remain top of the pile thanks to an 80-69 beating of Xacobeo Blusens in Malaga.

It was a collective team effort from Joan Plaza's men, who had four different players reach double figures.

The visitors saw Alberto Corbacho and Rafa Luz contribute 18 and 15 points respectively, but Blusens were soundly beaten.

Bottom-of-the-table Sevilla came agonisingly close to a fourth win of the campaign in a narrow 71-70 loss to Gran Canaria, while UCAM Murcia defeated Gipuzkoa 70-67 and Zaragoza overcame La Bruixa d'Or 73-57.

Rounding off Sunday's action, Darius Adams scored 16 points in Laboral Kutxa's resounding 94-59 beating of Estudiantes.

On Saturday, Valencia improved to 9-6 for the season with a high-scoring 98-80 beating of Iberostar Tenerife.
