Benfica alter travel routine ahead of trip to Cyprus

Benfica face Omonia this Thursday in Nicosia, Cyprus, on matchday 3 of the Europa League phase. The Eagles have opted for an unconventional approach compared to their typical European routine.

The clash will take place at the GSP Stadium at 20:00 Portuguese time, with the Lisbon club scheduling their entire pre-match preparations to be completed in Portugal on the eve of the game.

Benfica schedule: 10:30, training session open to the media for the first 15 minutes at the adidas Benfica Campus; 12:40, press conference with the manager and a player at the adidas Benfica Campus; 15:05, flight departure from Lisbon to Larnaca.

As for Omonia's schedule (local times): 15:00, press conference with the manager and a player at the GSP Stadium; 18:00, training session open to the media for the first 15 minutes at the Elias Poullos Training Ground.

Benfica will therefore skip both the traditional pitch adaptation session and the preview press conference at the match venue, fulfilling all official protocol at Seixal prior to departure.
