Nigerian boxing legend Bash Ali has refused to leave jail despite meeting conditions for bail reports say.

Bash Ali according to a NAN report, refused to leave jail in protest for his arrest and detention.

Bash Ali was undefinedin front of a bank in Abuja after he got an altercation with the manager of NEXIM Bank over an alleged $10m dollar bribe.

Bash Ali was jailed alongside Gabriel Ikyowe, Timothy Ugbede, Daniel Otoski and Jones Ebele.

They were first arraigned on Thursday, February 19 on a six count charge of joint act of abetment, criminal trespass, and obstruction in public way and all pleaded not guilty.

At the hearing on Wednesday, March 4,  the Principal Witness 1, Mr Bisong Peter, said he and his co workers was assaulted by Bash Ali and the other accused persons.

Senior Magistrate, Habiba Bello, having listened to the parties adjourned the case till Thursday April 2 for continuation hearing.

He wrote on his birthday on February 27:  "GEJ, Feb. 27 was my birthday and I spent it in jail in Kuje Prison because I said no to corruption at NEXM Bank. If this is what I have to do to make Nigeria better and ensure that my dream to rewrite boxing come to reality so be it."
