Barcelona's newest signing, Rodri, stands out as one of the few major football stars without an Instagram profile. Despite this, fans of the club found a curious way to welcome him, albeit by directing their messages to a different recipient.

The target of their enthusiasm was popular American singer Olivia Rodrigo, who boasts 42 million followers on the social media platform. In recent days, the music artist's latest posts have been inundated with dozens of messages from Catalan fans, all bearing the same welcome: “Welcome to Barcelona💙♥️”. These comments garnered thousands of likes, despite not being intended for the singer herself.

Olivia Rodrigo does, however, have a genuine connection to Barcelona. During one of last season's El Clásico matches, the club chose to promote her logo as part of its traditional campaign with main sponsor Spotify, which features musical artists in their clashes against Real Madrid.
