"Adeyemi has joined Barcelona on a five-year deal, running until June 30, 2031," the club announced in a statement on Thursday. The versatile 24-year-old is Barcelona's second summer signing, following England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
The quick-footed Adeyemi can operate as a striker or on either wing. His arrival will bolster the Spanish champions' attacking options after the departure of veteran forward Robert Lewandowski. Marcus Rashford also left Barcelona following the conclusion of his loan spell from Manchester United. The Catalan giants have also reportedly made an offer for Atletico Madrid striker Julián Alvarez.
Adeyemi joined Dortmund in 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg. Over four seasons, he scored 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions. He has earned 11 caps for the German national team but was not part of their squad for the 2026 World Cup. He made his international debut in 2021 under Hansi Flick, who is now the coach of the Catalan side. This information was reported by AFP.
