Is singer dedicating his “Songs About You” album to Adesua Etomi?

Songs About You.” That’s the title of Banky W’s next album.

And when you think about it for a few seconds, you begin to get a clearer picture; Banky W has announced his engagement to actress Adesua “Susu” Etomi. The duo have been dating for a year, and they have decided to get married this year.

So “Songs About You” has a very specific and personalized direction.

The singer is planning to drop his 6 solo studio album in 2017, and so far he has released a healthy dose of love songs leading up to the project. What’s more? After his stint in film school, Banky W is directing videos for all of his production. And so, every song gets a video.

So armed with the ability to make visuals, Banky has been steadily churning out material for his next project, and from the specific title, only one name comes to mind. Substitute the word ‘You’ for his fiancée, and you get a new title that reads “Songs About Adesua Etomi”.

Just like his previous albums, Banky W has made music thematically incline towards love and since the end of 2015, he has made a fresh set of love songs, packaged and released into the air. He has had ‘Kololo’, ‘Gidi love’, ‘Made for you’, ‘All I want is you’ ft Chidinma, ‘High notes’. All of these songs are love songs designed to woo and express infinite affection for a ‘chosen’ woman.

In ‘Made for you’, that ‘chosen’ woman is Adesua Etomi, who was in character as Banky W’s love interest. Pretty specific, don’t you think?

Turns out Banky W has been in love for over a year and while everyone is going warm over the sight of another celebrity relationship, you should know that Banky W had told us about this earlier.

The song ‘Made for you’, and the video by Banky, and released in February 2016, starred Adesua Etomi as the lead character. They both played lovers, who celebrated their anniversary with a grand display of suffocating romance. There were rose petals, scented sheets, pre-recorded videos, chin-touches and all of that.

The energy and passion between both actors felt real, and connected on a level that was just more than music videos. We were being played. Those people weren’t acting, they were telling us that they were in love. We just failed to see it.

So, with this in mind, every new love song becomes more personal, more direct, and more specific. Adesua Etomi will undoubtedly be the face of Banky W’s new project, and as the song rolls off his studio and into the streets, everyone will attribute it all to Adesua Etomi.
