The contenders, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo can be seen on their way to the awards ceremony where one of them will walk away with the Ballon d'Or award of the best player in the world for the year 2015.

Messi is favourite to win the award following the great year he had winning five trophies with Barcelona.

Even though Ronaldo had his best individual year of his career, scoring 54 goals in 53 matches in 2015, his inability to win any trophy with Real Madrid has hampered his chances to a fourth Ballon d'Or.

A fourth Ballon d'Or would mean much for Ronaldo as he would catch up with Messi.

Neymar could be the first player other than Messi and Ronaldo to win the award since 2007 when his compatriot Kaka won it.
