The FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup's women's downhill race in Bad Kleinkirchheim has been cancelled due to high winds.

The Austrian venue was due to host the fourth downhill even of the season, but organisers confirmed that the conditions were not suitable.

Sections of fencing and areas of standing for spectators were damaged or blown over.
"Due to very strong winds in Bad Kleinkirchheim, the downhill race has been cancelled," read a statement on the FIS website.
Downhill standings leader Lindsay Vonn was set to go in search of a third victory in the discipline this season.
However, attentions will now turn to Sunday's super-G event in Bad Kleinkirchheim, which is scheduled to take place at 11:00 local time (10:00 GMT).
