The Brazilian international's previous contract was set to expire next summer, with an annual salary of €1.8 million. Interestingly, this swift contract renewal comes after Manchester United reportedly pulled out of a potential transfer for the player to Old Trafford. The Red Devils were reportedly prepared to pay a total of €50 million for him but abruptly withdrew from their deal with the Bergamo club. It is believed that unsatisfactory medical examinations of the 27-year-old player were the reason for the collapsed transfer.

Ederson joined Atalanta in 2022 from Salernitana for approximately €23 million. Since then, the midfielder has made a total of 180 appearances for the *Nerazzurri*, scoring 16 goals and providing 6 assists.
