The Gunners starting the game on the front foot, chasing don every ball and making it very difficult for Manchester United to get into game.

Arsene Wenger’s men deservedly took the lead in the sixth minute.

Francis Coqelien intercepted a ball into the path of Mesut Ozil who played in Aaron Ramsey and collected it back to cross for Alexis Sanchez to back-heel into the net.

Ozil was the scorer a minute later, collected a pass to play in Theo Walcott who crossed for the Arsenal No. 11 to calmly tap into the net.

2-0 up, Arsenal were not done as they kept pressing Manchester United who had no answer to the pace of Arsenal’s front three of Walcott, Sanchez and Ozil.

Sanchez scored his second of the evening with a fierce drive after evading challenges from  Matteo Darmian, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling.

United had their first chance of the game in the 45th minute with Anthony Martial out muscling Per Mertesacker to shoot towards goal only for Petr Cech to save with an outstretched leg.

Louis van Gaal shuffled his team at half time, bringing Marouane Fellaini for Memphis Depay and Anthonio Valencia for Darmian.

With a 3-0 lead, Arsenal sat back in the second half allowing Manchester United to get much of the ball.
