Manchester City's management is reportedly making significant efforts to sign Lille's talented midfielder, Ayoub Bouadi, according to the authoritative publication “The Athletic”. The 18-year-old midfielder impressed everyone with his performances for the French team last season, and further solidified his excellent reputation at the World Cup. It is precisely his displays at the 2026 World Cup that have attracted even more serious interest in the player. The “Mastiffs” are expected to set a price of around 100 million euros for one of their most marketable footballers. The “Citizens” are actively investigating Bouadi's situation, his willingness to leave Lille, and the terms he would demand.

At the Etihad, there's a desire to rejuvenate the squad after failing to secure the Premier League title for two consecutive seasons. The “Citizens” have already reached an agreement for a record transfer for another player in this area – Elliott Anderson – but the deal is expected to be finalized after England's World Cup campaign. New manager Enzo Maresca also aims to inject fresh energy into the team, which was previously led by Josep Guardiola, and young Ayoub Bouadi is seen as an excellent opportunity. The Moroccan midfielder would have the chance to learn from a Ballon d'Or winner like Rodri, who, however, has been increasingly plagued by injuries recently. Manchester United and Arsenal have also shown interest in Ayoub, but both teams are unlikely to be willing to pay such a substantial price for the player.
