Araujo: Too Early to Discuss Permanent Transfer, but I Feel Happy and Valued at Liverpool

Liverpool defender Ronald Araujo believes it is still too early to talk about a permanent move to Anfield, though he feels settled and happy at the club. The Uruguayan is currently on loan with the Merseyside outfit and has made a strong impression so far, despite regularly being deployed at right-back rather than in central defense. Liverpool hold an option to sign him permanently for €55 million, with growing speculation suggesting the club's hierarchy are likely to trigger the clause.

"It's very early to talk about these things. I'm just trying to enjoy every day, grow, and improve to build my confidence," Araujo said at a press conference. "I'm really happy to be here. My family is happy too. But it's a bit too soon to discuss those matters.

"People here are so passionate—when you walk down the street, head into Liverpool city centre, or go out to eat, you really feel it, and it's wonderful," he added. "You see how deeply they live and breathe football. I'm truly happy here. I have a huge desire to keep going this season and give everything I've got. I want to keep learning and developing as a player. I'm getting regular minutes on the pitch, which is exactly what I wanted. We'll see what happens. I'm genuinely grateful to the fans. It means a lot to feel that warmth and support. Sometimes you play well, sometimes you don't, but I always give my absolute best. For a player, it's fantastic to feel appreciated like that."

Araujo also addressed his deployment at right-back, a role he has frequently filled since arriving at Liverpool.

"It's not an issue because I've played there several times before. When I decided to come here, I knew there was a possibility I'd be used at right-back, so it isn't completely foreign to me. Ultimately, I just try to give my best regardless of the position or what the manager asks of me. I won't hide that I feel most comfortable at centre-back, but playing at right-back isn't a problem for me either."
