Super Eagles striker Anthony Ujah has opened his account for his new club Werder Bremen on his home debut.

The 24-year-old finished off an impressive team play to double the lead for the Bundesliga side as they defeated UEFA Europa League holders Sevilla by three goals to one.

Bremen opened scoring in the 25th minute through Felix Kroos' penalty after Zlatko Junuzovic was brought down in the penalty area by David Carmona Sierra.

After a series of passes by the home team, Ujah got on the end of a Fin Bartels' low cross to double the lead.

Oliver Husing headed home a third for the hosts on 83 minutes before Juan Munoz pulled one back for the visitors a minute later.

"I'm very happy to score my first goal in front of the home crowd," Ujah told Werder Bremen website.

"I'm not only happy about the goal though, but also because we put on a super performance today.

"Sevilla are a strong opponent and are the reigning Europa League champions. What's more important is hat we played so well today.

"My goal gives me even more confidence fort he new season."
