IBF champion to defend title against Eric Molina or Dominic Breazeale
Joshua was crowned the new IBF world heavyweight champion after stunning Charles Martin in the second round on Saturday, April 9.
His promoter told Daily Mail that a June 25 fight has been fixed for Joshua’s defence against Molina or Breazeale.
Eddie Hearn revealed that Frenchman Johann Duhaupas has also entered the race while a refight with, Dillian Whyte is being considered for later this year.
Hearn revealed that an America opponent in the form of Molina is most likely since US interest in Joshua has grown.
“There is huge interest in him in the US so we are looking stateside for an opponent,” Joshua’s agent said.
“The IBF released their top 15 this week, with the surprise that Bermane Stiverne has dropped off it, which would reduce the chance of that fight happening this time.
“The main options are Molina and Dominic Breazeale, who are the frontrunners, but we are now also looking at Johann Duhaupas.”
