Joshua defeated Klitschko with a knockout in the 11th round to take his record to 19 wins in 19 fights.

For that huge fight, there was a huge viewing party at Sagamu, the ancestral home of the 27-year-old British boxer.

Although born in Watford, the boxer has a Nigerian mother Yeta and a British father of Nigerian and Irish descent.

In Shagamu, the youth association organised a viewing party which was attended by hundreds of people.

According to , the crowd at the viewing party cheered every blow by their ‘son’ Joshua and celebrated wildly when he won the bout.

Joshua in a short BBC Documentary ‘The Road to Klitschko’ Joshua was so impressed when they showed him a video of people celebrating his win in Sagamu.

“Oh its Nigeria, oh my God, that’s what I‘m saying,” he said before adding “that’s that pounded yam, it’s a Nigerian food I eat, makes me strong.”
