Ana Figueiras Returns to Sporting Four Years On

Ana Figueiras, 28, is set to rejoin Sporting's volleyball team, a club she previously represented during the 2022/2023 season, where she played a key role in their Portuguese Cup triumph.

In her initial statements to the club's media, Ana Figueiras expressed her delight at returning to familiar ground. "It's a strange feeling, but it's great to be back here after a few years. The year I was here before turned out to be a successful one for the team, and I hope that the upcoming season and those that follow will also bring great success," stated the setter.

"I believe these past few years away have helped me grow; I've been in many decisive moments that have matured both my game and me as an athlete," reflected the Portuguese international, who currently captains the national team.

With renewed ambition, Ana Figueiras acknowledges that her return brings increased responsibility, especially after the championship objective remained unfulfilled during her first stint. "I know that by accepting a project like this, we aim for the highest levels. The goal is to be at the top of the league and contend for all the titles available this year," she affirmed.
