Recently, the former Director General of the Subsidy Re-investment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P in Niger State, Alhaji Hassan Nuhu, suggested a solution to Nigeria's housing deficit.

According to Alhaji Nuhu, using alternative technology can address Nigeria's huge housing deficit.

"This is an amazing technology that can be used to address the problem associated with housing deficits in the state", he said.

I think he is right because alternative technology has so many advantages.

Another great thing about this technology is the fact that anything can be used to construct buildings.

Alternative building materials include shipping containers, cans, recycled items, sun-dried bricks, more.
