Sanchez who was Arsenal’s highest goalscorer last season has only a year left on his contract and has turned down all offers from the club for a renewal.

Arsene Wenger has insisted all summer that he won’t be forced to sell the forward who wants to leave the club.

The Arsenal manager said several times he is ready to risk losing the forward for free next year but it seems he could backtrack on his decision.

With Manchester City’s interest, Arsenal are considering a player plus cash deal for Sanchez which could see Raheem Sterling move the other way.

Sergio Aguero has also been mentioned in some reports.

City tabled a bid of a £50million on Tuesday, August 29 which was turned down by Arsenal. A mega swap deal, however, is expected to see them sell Sanchez.

Sterling is also open to a move to Arsenal with a return to his city, London and a chance for regular football in a FIFA World Cup year.

With little time in the transfer window to replace Sanchez, Wenger sees Sterling as an ideal replacement for his No 7.

Some Arsenal players are said to be unhappy with Sanchez’s behavior and want him sold.
